2013: M.I.A.
The halftime show of the Super Bowl XLVI was full of talented people. Fans were already thrilled when Madonna and LMFAO climbed the stage, so what more when M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj joined them in Egyptian garb and pom-poms. M.I.A. was amazing in her own right even though she was not as famous as the other people with her. However, there was something that happened that did not fly with everyone.

2015: M.I.A.’s Middle Finger
M.I.A. flipped her middle finger at the camera while she was performing with Madonna! It might sound like a minor incident, but it blew up. Everyone said that the “finger malfunction” upstaged Madonna! Madge expressed her disappointment by calling M.I.A.’s actions “irrelevant” and “teenage”. This was what she told Ryan Seacrest in an interview: ” I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy and positivity; it seemed negative.”
