No Escape

The Second World War was in full swing, and American men were being conscripted on a daily basis, particularly those who demonstrated aptitude for talents that the military required at the time. Billie was both extraordinary and possessed the necessary talents required by the military, which made him a good candidate for recruitment into the war effort. Billie, on the other hand, was well aware that his day was approaching and that there would be no going back once he began the long journey towards his destiny. Hopelessly Devoted

During the darkest days of World War I and World War II, wives and even family members would receive the dreadful telegram informing them of the fate of their husbands and wives. In the case of some, they were greeted by servicemen who personally delivered the news to them. Peggy, on the other hand, never received a single piece of information about Billie. No one came to her home to inform her of the development. There was no telegram sent to her informing her of her husband’s whereabouts. Peggy never received any news, not even after 70 years of waiting. She claimed that she had been Billie’s wife for his whole life, and that she intended to be married to him for hers as well.
