Metal piece on the tape measure
The metal piece at the end of the tape measure is also called a stop bracket. It has several functions. The hole in the stop bracket, known as the “eye” in specialist circles, makes measuring easier and allows the tape measure to be held in place with screws or nails. The stop bracket can also be moved forwards and backwards. This is not a production error, but makes it easier to measure inside and outside lengths. The “teeth” on the stop bracket allow you to “hook” the tape measure if you only have one hand free.
Starbucks lid
If, like us, you go to Starbucks every morning in your sleep to get your iced coffee or latte, then you probably haven’t figured this out yet either. But some Starbucks fans have revealed what they use their plastic lids for – as coasters! The plastic cup fits incredibly well into the lids of the hot and cold drink cups – simply peel off the top and insert the cup into the inner grooves of the lid (we’ve always wondered what they’re for!)
Skip advertising. Best of all, your new coaster makes it incredibly hard to spill your drink.
