Indiana — Cathedral High School
Cathedral High is only behind Bishop Chatard in state championships by one. However, its success has come consistently in bigger divisions. Under the guidance of coach Rick Streiff, the team won 4 state titles in that decades, but its 2006 title started a streak of dominance the state had not seen before. Cathedral took home 7 state titles from 2006 to 2016, which includes 5 straight wins from 2010 to 2014.

Joliet Catholic High holds the Illinois record with its 14 state titles. However, its 2018 championship win was surprising since it came after 4 regular-season losses. The program has produced several Super Bowl winners in the past. The list includes the likes of Daniel Eugene “Rudy” Ruettiger and Sean Astin.
