Gon bay which translates to “dry cup” really means cheers. China has very interesting drinking etiquette and people drink often for business and pleasure. Baiju is the most popular local drink, but be careful! It has between 40-60% alcohol by volume. It is common in China to have drinking competitions and ones ability to drink without hesitation is tied with the concept of saving face.
