After the firemen got a good look at the first baby, they finally figured out what animal they were helping: puppies! They did not know how the babies ended up in the sewer, but the rescuers were sure about one thing. The babies should not be there.

The firefighters found what they were seeing hard to believe. They worried that a person might have been responsible for putting the puppies inside the sewer. Sadly, pets being abandoned by their owners is not uncommon. At times, owners think there is no other way to dispose of animals.
