Mel Brooks is a man of many talents; he is an actor, comedian, director, and composer. He began his comedy career in the 1940’s after he served in the US army during World War II. His career really grew as he expanded his skill set to directing as well as film making. Brooks is one out of a handful of EGOT winners in Hollywood, which means that he has won at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award throughout his successful career. Brooks was known to be one of the most popular directors in the 1970’s.

Belafonte is most famously known to be a singer and a social activist. While he may not have a thriving singing career anymore, he still remains quite active in the world of politics today. In addition, he also dabbled in the acting world, starring in films such as Bright Road and Carmen Jones. During the duration of his singing career, he recorded songs from several different genres such as gospel, blues, folk, and show tunes. These songs ended up winning Belafonte three Grammy Awards!
