The Discovery
It appeared that John had found some sort of entrance which was like a hatch in his backyard. He cleaned up the area around it and tried to pry the lid open. John made sure that he did not inhale too much because he did not know if there was mold inside or worse, toxic fumes. He peered in carefully and what he saw truly amazed him.

Under the lid that John discovered in his yard, he found a series of blades. However, after a closer look, he realized they were actually a spiral staircase that leads downward. Many people would jump at the chance to explore this kind of discovery, but John hesitated. In spite of his overwhelming excitement, he hesitated for good reason.
