Joyce did not seem too keen on selling her home, so the sisters had to go and inspect the property to find out why. When the older woman first contacted the real estate agents, Joyce told them something quite surprising. It was certainly going to affect the sale of the property. She hinted that the agents were going to see something surprising as soon as they went through the front door.

At the time, Joyce was already 96 years old! Though her age surprised them, Joyce was lucid and had good hearing. For Carla Spizzirri, this was impressive seeing as she had to speak louder whenever she talks to her own grandmother. It was definitely amazing that Joyce was in such good shape in spite of her advanced years, but the actual surprise which was waiting for the sisters was much more incredible.
