The daughter and mother wanted to pay tribute to his green color when he was born. This is the reason they tried to think of a name from what it evoked: nature! They lived in the Scottish Highlands, so they did not run out of inspiration thanks to all the shrubs, hills, forests, and greenery.

In the end, they decided to call the puppy Forest. It was a great choice that received a lot of praise. However, the hardest moment was still yet to come. Louise knew that there was no way they could keep the entire litter of puppies. It was time to do something about that.

Even though Louise would have wanted nothing more than to keep all nine puppies in the house, it was simply not practical for them. They ended up selling the first litter, so it made sense for them to do the same thing with this one.

They have resigned to do this, although there was something special about Forest. He knew how to pull at their heartstrings! Claire and Louise thought the extraordinary color of his fur was meant to tell them that he should stay with the family. In the end, they decided to go with this choice. They held on to the puppy, and he has since become a happy and healthy Golden Retriever!
