In the movie The Untouchables, Costner plays Elliot Ness, who wears a suit with lapels. However, lapels were actually invented much later, so they don’t reflect the period of time the movie supposedly takes place.

The Other Boleyn Girl – Hair Should Have Been Up
In the 2008 movie The Other Boleyn Girl, Natalie Portman’s character wears a French Hood while her hair is down. The film is set in the 16th century, and at that time, these were worn with the hair pulled and an attached veil in the back that hides the hair. Actually, this is only one of the many inaccuracies in the film, which possibly caused the mixed reviews that the film received.
