Maximilien Robespierre
Maximilien Robespierre was a key figure during the French Revolution. A politician and lawyer, he supported the abolition of celibacy, slavery, religious intolerance, and more. He also helped establish the First French Republic and got elected deputy of the National Convention.

What Maximilien Robespierre Really Looked Like
In 2013, Philippe Charlier and Philippe Froesch teamed up to make this rendering. Aside from artworks of the leader, they used his death masks as well. They were believed to be the handiwork of Madame Tussaud! She made the two death masks using his decapitated head. He was executed in July 1794.
