Tiberius was the successor of Augustus. The ruler from 14 AD to 37 AD, he was the child of Livia Drusilla and Tiberius Claudius Nero. The second Roman emperor was born in Rome in November 42 BC and died in Miseno in March 37 AD. “In a free state there should be freedom of speech and thought,” he said.
