Female Tank Commander
When it comes to bravery and valor, Aleksandra Samusenko is the name that defines that. She was the only female tank commander in the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Russian Army. She is best known for her successful escape to safety when her commander was killed during the Battle of Kursk. Sadly she was killed on March 3rd, 1945, just two months before World War II in Europe ended.
