As passengers board the aircraft, flight attendants make quick but important assessments of each and every person. They have been trained to survey us and then take mental notes of anyone who might be intoxicated or problematic. They also track who is traveling alone and those who might need any assistance during the course of the flight. It is also interesting to hear that they size passengers up to see who could be useful in the event of an emergency.
