Indira Gandhi
Indira Gandhi, who had no relationship with Mahatma Gandhi, was the daughter of India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. She became the country’s prime minister in 1967, a few years after her father died. Gandhi’s been seen here in 1963. Gandhi served as Prime Minister from 1967 to 1977, then again from 1980 to 1984 when she was assassinated. The signature gray streak in her hair spread between the time she entered the office and the year she was killed.
